Mueller to interview more senior White House officials

Washington, Nov 21 (IANS): Investigators working for Special Counsel Robert Mueller are scheduled to interview additional senior White House officials in the coming weeks over alleged Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election, the media reported.

The officials to be interviewed include Communications Director Hope Hicks, White House counsel Don McGahn and Josh Raffel, a communications aide to senior adviser and President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, CNN reported on Monday.

Mueller's team has already interviewed White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller, Trump's former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and former White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

Spicer and Priebus left the White House over the summer, but they were still around when Trump fired FBI Director James Comey. Miller was also involved in the Trump campaign.

Mueller is investigating Russian election meddling, potential collusion with Russians by the Trump campaign and potential obstruction of justice as it reacted to the probe.
