Beltangady: Theft, torching of mobile shop - three held

Beltangady, Nov 20: Uppinangady police have succeeded in solving a case in which a mobile phone shop located at Kalleri, Karaya in Beltangady taluk was burgled before being torched. They have arrested three persons in this connection. The theft of the shop and setting it afire had happened on November 8.

The arrested accused are Ummer Farooq (24) from Parva in Sajuipamooda village, Bantwal taluk, Farooq (24), resident of Talipadpu in Ira village and Ubaidulla alias Ubai (24) from Kote, Panemangalore. 27 mobile phones, a goods tempo of Tata make, a Pulsar motor bike and Activa Honda two-wheeler have been seized from their possession.

Acting on reliable information that the accused were transporting the stolen goods by a goods tempo towards Uppinangady from the direction of Bantwal for sale, the police intercepted the vehicle at Panjala on the national highway and took them into possession.
