Mangaluru: Centre made fake promises to youths-Dist Cong president Harish

Mangaluru Nov 19: District Congress President Harish Kumar criticized central government for its failure in delivering promises to people.

Addressing a news conference, here on Saturday November 18, Harish Kumar said, “Central government has made fake promises in giving employment to youths. Instead of new jobs, there is a rise in unemployment. Since the demonetisation, industries have closed down, workers and farmers are in pathetic condition and even economically our country has come down drastically.”

He further said, “The implementation of GST had negative impact during Gujarat elections. The promises made during the demonetisation has never stopped terror financing, instead they spent 1 lac crore for minting new currency notes. There has been hike in gas, petrol and diesel prices. UPA government was far better than NDA government in terms of prices of gas, petrol and diesel. When UPA government was in power, increase in the price would end in huge turmoil. What about present scenario where the prices are increasing every now and then?”

“Parivarthan rally has failed as it could not reach up to their expectations and their followers are coming down. They are mentally disturbed and finding ways to justify their stand by telling Congress leaders are joining BJP. These are not true and no congressmen are joining BJP. During the time of elections their agenda will be in limelight. Once done with elections their agenda will be changed. BJP are in dreams that they will come back to administration as they are not active and lost courage. Their allegations on CM Siddaramaiah are baseless and there is no evidence to it.”

“PM Narendra Modi is going to organize rallies in 50 places in Gujarat as he is aware that BJP is at the verge of losing in Gujarat. Rahul Gandhi has already taken people into confidence which is a challenge for BJP,” he added.

When asked about Congress samarasya rally which kept on postponing, Harish Kumar said, “It was a dream of Rai to organize Samarasya rally which kept on postponing due to some reasons. So we decided to take the rally on December 12 excluding communal organisations.”
