Mangaluru: 'O...La...Re' nite in aid of DAYA centre enraptures music buffs

Mangaluru, Nov 19: With the noble aim of raising funds for DAYA Special Children Day Care Center at Laila in Beltangady, 'O... La...Re', an entertaining musical nite by singers Stephan and Shilpa Cutinha was held on Saturday November 18 at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail here.

Fr Austin Peris, parish priest of Derebail, Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld Group, and Fr Gracian, assistant parish priest of Derebail church were the chief guests on the event.

Fr Vinod Mascarenhas of DAYA Special Children Day Care Center welcomed the guests and the gathering. He thanked the parish priest of Derebail church and various associations of the parish for their support to the event.

Addressing the gathering Fr Austin said, "The musical nite was planned by DAYA Centre for a good cause. DAYA centre will utilize the proceedings from this event for the well-being of differently-abled children. I salute them for their sincere concern towards the society, especially children. Secondly, I appreciate Shilpa and Stephan for their interest in this unique show. Today they have dedicated their performance to the needy children of DAYA centre, and thereby they have given a message that artists can do something for the helpless, the poor, or the differently-abled with their performance.

"I congratulate all the singers, dancers and actors who are going to perform on this stage. I am certain that this is going to be an enthralling event," he added.

Apart from Shilpa and Stephan, singers Robin Sequeira, Meera Crasta, Gavin Menezes, Carol Sequeira, Levlin Lobo, Denora Fernandes, Leesha D’Silva and young talents Senora, Shanon, Raina, Diona, Alma, Tiyana and Delvina entertained the audience with their sweet and melodious voices. They performed songs of Irene D'Souza, Joel Pereira and Lloyd Rego Taccode.

Nellu Permannur and team added a generous dose of humour with their delightful skits.

Nach Sobhann and the talents of Derebail parish enthralled the audience with their dance performances.

Roshan D’Souza Angelore provided the music for the show.
