Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College student bags numerous awards in Badminton

Mangaluru, Nov 18: Spandana Bekal, daughter of Venkatagiri and Rajani and first PU student of St Agnes P U College in Mangaluru has achieved the unthinkable.

She has won more than 34 prizes in Badminton competitions from December 1, 2012 and November 8, 2017.

Below is the list of awards won by her:

Second prize in district level badminton competitions held in Mangala Stadium on December 1, 2012.

Second prize in district level badminton competitions held at Yenepoya University, Deralakatte on February 16, 2013.

Second prize in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district level competitions in Fisheries College held between May 22, 2013 and May 26, 2013.

First prize in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district level competitions in Udupi on June 22, 2013.

First prize in taluk level competitions held by department of public instruction in Konaje on August 7, 2013.

Second prize in district level competitions held by department of public instruction in Ujire on September 14, 2013.

Second prize in divisional level competitions held by department of Public Instruction in Chamarajanagar on October 20, 2013.

Participated in state level competitions held by the department of Public Instruction on October 24, 2013.

Second prize in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts level competitions in Mangala stadium for under 13 and first prize in under 14 years category.

First prize in Udupi and Kasargod district level competitions held by Rotary club at Mangala Stadium on February 23, 2014.

Second prize in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts level competitions held at Fisheries College from May 20, 2014 to May 25, 2014.

First prize in competitions held by department of Public Instruction in Mangalore University on August 13, 2014.

First prize in competitions held by department of Public Instruction in Puttur on August 26, 2014.

Second prize in under 17 doubles category, first prize in under 17 singles category and second prize in under 15 singles category in district level competitions held at Shepherds club on October 26, 2014.

Second prize in divisional level competitions held at Gundlupet by department of Public Instruction on September 1, 2014.

Second prize in state level competitions held at Gulbarga by department of Public Instruction on October 12, 2014.

Represented Karnataka in country level competitions held at Jammu by School games federation of India from November 21, 2014 to November 25, 2014.

Second prize in badminton singles for below 17 held by Torpedoes Sports Club on June 28, 2015.

Second prize in district level women's singles in Dakshina Kannada in 2015.

Second prize in 15 years category district level competitions held by Shepherd badminton club on November 7, 2015 and November 8, 2015.

Second prize in 15 yrs singles category, first prize in 17 yrs singles category and second prize in women's division doubles open badminton tournament held by Mahaveera Indoor Sports Association on January 31, 2016.

First prize in singles category 15 yrs in taluk level shuttle badminton championship by Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat department of Public Instruction on August 19, 2016.

First prize in 17 yrs category championships by department of public instruction, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat on August 26, 2016.

First prize in 17 years category inter district tournament by Torpedoes sports club on September 4, 2016.

Second prize in singles, first prize in 17 yrs category open doubles by Badminton Sports Club, Manipal on October 8, 2016 and October 9, 2016.

First prize in 17 yrs category singles in district badminton tournament by Torpedoes Sports Club on November 13, 2016.

Selected for state level, winning first prize in Khelo India sports, Dakshina Kannada district on January 6, 2017.

Second prize in mixed doubles in competitions held by Torpedoes Sports Club, on January 8, 2017.

Second prize in singles competitions for 17 years and 19 years category in Dakshina Kannada district level shuttle badminton competitions in January 2017.

Third prize by representing Karnataka state in 'Khelo India' national level competitions 17 years category in Hyderabad on February 10, 2017 and February 16, 2017.

First prize in taluk level competitions by department of public instruction in Mangaluru on August 28, 2017.

First prize in district level competitions by department of public instruction in Ujire on August 29, 2017.

First prize in under 17 doubles and under 17 singles in district level competitions at Shepherd badminton club on October 14, 2017 and October 15, 2017.

Second prize in under 17 doubles, first prize in under 19 singles and first prize in under 17 singles in state level open shuttle badminton competitions held by John’s Sports in Karkala on October 28, 2017 and October 29, 2017.
