Bengaluru, Nov 18: Death toll due to the strike of private doctors rose to 65, with 24 people succumbing to death, due to non-availability of timely treatment, on the last day of the strike on Friday, November 17.

Out-patient departments were open in several parts of the state as per the High Court directive. However, doctors were not available to administer the treatment to the patients as they were participating in the protest at Belagavi. Though, most of the private hospitals in Bengaluru provided treatment, out-patient care affected in district level private hospitals.
Because of the situation, on Friday alone, total 24 people lost their lives, including a 45-days-old baby.

3 people died in Dakshina Kannada district on Friday.

Some hospitals closed their out-patient department in the afternoon, after providing treatment for patients, who reported in the morning.

The doctors at all government hospitals at district and taluk level, including Bengaluru in city, gave relentless service to the patients.
