Don't boycott President's visit, Manipur CM tells militants

Imphal, Nov 17 (IANS): Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Friday urged a grouping of outlawed groups not to boycott President Ram Nath Kovind's maiden visit to Manipur and other states in the northeast from November 19.

The Coordinating Committee (Corcom), an apex body of six outlawed organisations in Manipur, has called for a 26-hour general strike to protest against the President's visit.

"People have no reason to rejoice the visit," a Corcom statement said.

Kovind will visit Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur from November 19 to 22.
