Mangaluru: 1,300 loads of illegally stored sand seized at Adyapadi

Mangaluru, Nov 16: Bajpe police and senior geologist from city conducted joint raid at Adyapadi near Bajpe on the evening of Wednesday November 15 and seized 1,300 loads of sand illegally stored near Adyapadi dam.

The sand was stored in the RTC land belonging to Jeevan Pereira who is absconding. The sand is being guarded by Bajpe police now.

A complaint in this connection was lodged by Niranjan, senior geologist of Mangaluru.

A case under Cr No. 280/17 u/s 3, 36, 42 and 44 of Karnataka Mines and Minerals Concession Rules 1994 (KMMCR) and sec. 4,4(IA), 21(4), (4A) of Mines and Minerals (D&R) Act 1957 revised section 379 IPC stands registered against the suspects.
