Mandya: Three-year-old brave child saves friend from drowning

Daijiworld Media Network - Mandya (MS)

Mandya, Nov 15: Chandana, the three-year-old daughter of Ajithkumar and Shilpa, residents of Annur village, near Bharathinagar of Mandya district, displayed exemplary courage in saving the life of her anganwadi friend from drowning in a drain on Tuesday, November 14.

Rithu, friend of Chandana, slipped into a roadside drain that was eight feet deep. Chandana who saw this immediately ran to her house and alerted her father, who did not respond as he thought she must be playing a prank.

Chandana did not stop her efforts and conveyed the message to Rithu's parents. Even they brushed it aside. Then the toddler started to wail in a loud voice. Ajithkumar, father of Chandana, sensed that something is really serious and went near the drain and lifted Rithu.

Rithu who was unconscious, regained consciousness after the administration of first aid. Later she was rushed to a hospital at Bharathinagar and got discharged after recovering completely.

Chandana is being lauded by one and all for her alertness and bravery.

I have no words to express the bravery of Chandana. Her presence of mind which alarmed her father of her drowning friend saved the life of her friend Rithu.

Her parents are normal Indians..... Even Indians see rape, murder takes in their presence they will not try to save the victim..... this is Indian style. She is innocent and without thinking herself she saved her friend..... god sends angels in different way to save us also.

    Dear,

Please do not blame her/his parents because they thought she must be kidding... kids at this age keep on talking and asking something meaningless is very very common... Kids are mirror image of their parents in everything ... parents are the only reason for child to take this step!

Even adults/elder members show some lethargic behaviour when somebody is in some kind of danger. Even in accident cases they dont try to help and shows carelessness on account of which some precious lives are lost. But in this case realising the danger the child has shown exemplarary bravenes and tried to save the life of her friend by repeated attempts. really brave and intelligent girl. For saving her friends life she should be rewarded.

Congrats..Chandana...Really brave girl...Unfortunately Chandana's father and Ritu's parents look immature in front 3 year old Chandana..

Note: Pat on Chandana's back and one tight Guddu on the back of both parents for taking things not seriously..
