Media Release

Mangaluru, Nov 15: Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, vicar general of Mangalore diocese of celebrated Holy Mass at Our Lady of Miracles Church, Mangaluru for the intentions of children on the occasion of Children’s Day.

Fr Derik (Cap) in his homily said that Jesus loved children and blessed them. He quoted Mt 18:3 ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven’. “On their part parents must love their children, raise them as God fearing and instil in them values which help them to grow as good human beings. The children in turn must respect their parents and their elders. There should be a thirst among the young ones to learn from those who have seen life. At the end of the Holy Mass the Vicar General made a special prayer for the children,” he said.

On the occasion, the vicar general also released St Anthony’s Ashram, Jeppu 2018 calendars. He then gave the first copy of the calendar to Richard Rodrigues of Vailankani Constructions, the sponsor of the calendar. As many as 20,000 calendars were distributed to the devotees of St Anthony.

Fr Onil D’Souza, director of the Institutes conducted the chaplet of St Anthony during the novena in preparation for the feast of St Anthony’s relic to be celebrated on February 15. The chaplet of St Antony is conducted on thirteen Tuesdays in preparation for the feast. Towards the end, sweets were distributed to all.
