Hosapete, Nov 11: BJP MLA Anand Singh took part in Tipu Jayanti celebrations held at Hosapete here on Friday, November 10.

Anand Singh said "Only love and trust remain when a person dies. He will not take anything else other than these,"

“Therefore I have come here for love and trust for the celebrations though I am not keeping well,” he added.

“Political parties should not divide society on communal lines as humanity is greater than all religions,” he said.

Similarly Tipu Jayanti was celebrated in Yuva Morcha office of minority unit at Kaul Bazar, Bellary. Govindaraju, who is close to MP Sriramulu and former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, kept a portrait of Tipu, put a garland on it, prayed and celebrated Tipu Jayanti. Sources have said that he had taken permission from MP Sriramulu.

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Jagadish Shettar, addressing a press meet at Vidhana Soudha said that BJP had been clearly opposing Tipu Jayanti celebrations.

“Some party men have attended the event. We will consider it seriously and initiate stringent action against them,” said Shettar.
