Thumbay Hospital Fujairah holds well-wishers forum, Doctors meet

Fujairah, Nov 4: Thumbay Hospital, one of the leading academic hospitals under Thumbay group’s healthcare division, conducted an inaugural meeting of its ‘Well-wishers Forum’, a body of stakeholders’ from various industries and business segments supporting the hospital’s constant pursuit of excellence in high standards of healthcare delivery and patient satisfaction. Held on November 3 at Concorde Hotel here, the well-wishers meet was a grand get-together of leaders from the business sector, academic institutions, religious and cultural organizations, local and regional bodies etc.

The well-wishers meet is a unique initiative by Thumbay Hospital in the city, which brings together friends of the hospital from different sectors and backgrounds, providing the hospital management with valuable feedback on ways to continuously improve the standards of service delivery and patient convenience. The recommendations made by the forum are evaluated and will be implemented by the hospital management.



The meet was followed by a ‘Doctors Meet 2017’ attended by around 400 doctors and delegates from various hospitals, insurance companies and corporates, presided over by Thumbay Moideen – founder president of Thumbay group, in the presence of Akbar Moideen Thumbay – vice president of the healthcare division of Thumbay group. Dr Mohammad Faisal Parvez - chief operating officer of the city's Thumbay Hospital delivered the welcome address and Dr Osama Mahmoud Rizk - medical director of the hospital proposed the vote of thanks. The doctors meet also felicitated some senior doctors from various hospitals and insurance company representatives, noted for their remarkable contributions to the healthcare industry. Addressing the gathering, Thumbay Moideen elaborated on Thumbay Group’s strategic plans for the healthcare sector, according to which the Thumbay academic hospital network will have a total of 1000 beds in the UAE, 1500 beds in India and 750 beds elsewhere in the Gulf and Africa by 2022, taking the total number of hospitals to 15 worldwide.

Commenting on the ‘Well-wishers Forum’ initiative, Akbar Moideen said that it was important for Thumbay Hospital to hear from various stakeholders. “This is part of our comprehensive and holistic approach to ensuring that we not only provide more and improved access to our healthcare services, but also maintain the highest standards of quality, patient safety and integrity. The feedbacks and recommendations from various stakeholder groups also help us to identify the trends in healthcare delivery,” he said.

Emphasizing the importance of constantly engaging with external stakeholders and healthcare professionals, Dr Mohammad Faisal Parvez said that Thumbay Hospital Fujairah planned to organize more such events in the future.
