Karkala, Nov 3: The Madrasa teacher of Madina mosque here who had gone missing with several students has been traced in Kumta in Uttara Kannada district, police sources said.

Mohammed Tayyab, who worked as a teacher in the Madrasa of Madina mosque, had gone missing in the wee hours of Friday November 3, taking 21 students along with him. It had earlier been reported that 32 students had gone with him, but the police have clarified that he took 21 students with him.

A complaint in this regard had been filed by Abdul Samad at around 5.30 pm. The police swung into action and traced Tayyab and the children in Kumta.

The children are in the age group of 8 to 16. Tayyab took them away at 2 am, it is said. Based on the details provided by the complainant, the accused Tayyab was traced and all the children were secured from Kumta railway station while they were being carried by Matysagandha Express, police sources said.

The operation involved close cooperation between Udupi and Karwar district police.

Tayyab is a resident of Bihar, and all the children belong to the same state. They were brought here to study in the Madrasa by Tayyab, who taught them Arabic. The expenses for the travel was paid by the management. However, he also took money from children's parents. When asked by the management to return the money to the parents, he apparently got unsettled, and took away the children without informing the Madrasa management, police sources said.

Karkala: Mosque cleric from Bihar goes missing with 21 students

Daijiworld Media Network – Karkala (EP)

Karkala, Nov 3: A Bihar-origin Madrasa teacher at Madina mosque here has gone missing with 21 students who had come from Bihar for religious studies.

It is said that the Madrasa teacher, identified as Tayyab, went missing along with the students late night on Thursday, November 2.

It is suspected that they might have gone back to Bihar by train via Kundpur.

Sources said that they might have travelled to Kundapur railway station by tempo traveller on Thursday night, and then caught a train to Bihar.

It is suspected that internal tussles in the mosque might have led them to take this step.

There were reports that they were traced in Kundapur, but SP Sanjeev Patil said that they are yet to be found and search is on.

I smell something foul. This teacher may not be alone ,its impossible that he takes 21students alone to Kumta.I am smelling something wrong ,feeling child trafficking etc. There might be some others also withhim ,please cheack all of his mobiles. Its possible that from Kumta ,children will b divided and taken to separate states and then their kaala kaam shuru. Thanks to alert parents and the officers.Children are very innocent soul ,we must make them byheart parents phone numbers and tell them call when in dangers.Every school should start this.In western countries already they started this.

If locals r not ready to work only option is to bring manpower from other states, they r hardworking n happy with reasonable pay unlike locals. Locals prefer to migrate abroad even though they may have to work like donkeys with menial pay!

    Please stop running religious institutions.
I don't think modern human being need the ticket for heaven.
If we train this youngsters with actual life's learning they can lead happy life
Otherwise they will learn to interpret the learnt religion for their selfish benefit
No matter what, all animals has got this tendency.

Time to think n hope has come now.

Perhaps the kids have gone back to bring their parents, siblings and relatives to settle in Karkala,
Soon the adults will have voters id and ration card that would by default qualify for some Bhagyas. The sachiva would intervene to speed up process .
