Bengaluru: Actor Upendra floats Karnataka Prajnavanta Janata Party

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Nov 1: In one more addition to the number of political parties in Karnataka, Upendra, popular Kannada cine actor and film maker, floated 'Karnataka Prajnavantha Janatha Party (KPJP)' with the motto of bringing "complete change" in the society.

The actor said anyone who would like to lend his or her hand in making the living conditions better for the Kannadigas are most welcome to join the party. The party will be "people centric" in its functioning style, as per the actor-turned-politician.

KPJP will contest all the 224 constituencies in the upcoming assembly polls. He rejected outright any possibility of alliance with any other party. He also added that more than 50,000 people have already pledged their support to the party via emails.

Upendra said, "We already have a list of 1000 candidates who are willing to contest. However, only those who are committed to serve the people of this state will be given the chance."

Lauding the efforts of media the actor said "You (media) always sit in the audience and report events. However, today you are our chief guests. It is the fourth estate which acts as watchdog of the society," He also called upon stage a few journalist to join him in lighting of the lamp.

A painting, which depicted the common man whose shadow portrayed the silhouette of the Vidhana Soudha was drawn by artiste Vilas Nayak to the tune of music. “Power should be in the shadow of the people and not the other way around,” he added.

All the supporters of the party including the actor's wife Priyanka wore kakhi dress to send the message that the party is formed to serve the people.

Replying to a query on how his party will deal with the jagged world of caste and politics that is totally driven by money, Upendra said, “I have already won as hope has dominated over doubt. I do not want to die with regrets of not doing things that I aspired to do. I am not worried about winning or losing the elections.”

“I do not want to be a MGR or a NTR but remain as Upendra in politics” he said. He also said his party will draft a detailed plan soon along with “a micro-management” strategy for all the sectors with special emphasis on health and education.

Upendra always surprised his audience and understands the psychology of the masses and made films to cater to them. Karnataka is no more level playing field with older generation providing more of the same and grand old parties playing spoilt sport with interests of Karnataka.

Regional parties like DMK and AIADMK had always benefited their respective states with a say in the central government. Karnataka lacked this as we firmly aligned behind 2 symbols. Consequently, Karnataka's interests were surrendered and UP with large number of MPs had their say.

However, the flip side of regional parties is that they lack the stomach for development and too busy to address anything other than politics. Most backward states are backward because of overwhelming influence of politics in everyday life. UP, Bihar, West Bengal and recently Tamil Nadu too. Corruption, nepotism are endemic.

Politics needs more social awareness, ability to deal with any conditions and people's faith in your strength, which sure people will not take risk!!..people are not fool, they got more experiences in evidences ...chiranjeevi, kejriwal many more...so HUMBLE REQUEST BE WITH YOUR INDUSTRY, SHINE WHERE YOU WANT TO BE BY PEOPLE, DONT BURN YOUR FINGERS, MAY LOOSE DEPOSITS EVEN, WILL BE NIGHTMARE!!, SO ...IF U STILL INTEREST IN POLITICS JOIN ANY ONE (CONGRESS OR BJP) TRAIN YOURSELF...NO PARTY WILL GIVE YOU TOP POSITION AT FIRST....BE A AMBITIOUS TO YOUR LIMIT OTHERWISE YOU MAY REGRET FOR LIFE!
PLEASE AVOID MULTIPLE PARTIES ..LET THERE BE ONLY TWO PARTIES TO DECIDE MANDATE, WHICH WILL BE HEALTHY FOR SOCIETY

Dear Upendra, As per your own admission you consult astrologers before starting your film projects, if so how you can change people's luck 😂😂, certainly your party is a "B" team of someone?! Which will be known after the assembly elections.! Anyway your acting skills are not bad. As a director you do not have self confidence!

Some people spread the currency notes on the bed and sleep on it. Some burn the notes in winter to keep themselves warm. Some buy ten thousand square feet bungalows just for a stay of few days in an year.
When people earn money more than they deserve, some do not know exactly what to do with the money.
Should take a cue from Bill gates, Azim Premji and Tata!
