Beltangady: Modi arrives in DK, offers prayers in Dharmasthala temple

Beltangady, Oct 29 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday offered prayers at the Dharmasthala temple as part of his visit to Karnataka to attend various public events.

Modi landed in Mangaluru, about 350km from the state capital, earlier on Sunday and flew in a helicopter to the temple town of Dharmasthala, about 100 km from the port city of Mangaluru.

The Prime Minister waved to crowds gathered at the entrance, before praying at the temple dedicated to Lord Manjunatheshwara.

On account of the Prime Minister's visit, the temple administration has restricted public entry up to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The Dharmasthala temple is one of the renowned religious landmarks of south India, with a history of over 800 years.

Modi will later address a public rally at Ujjire town near Dharmasthala and hand over RuPay cards to the Pradhan Mantri Jan Than Yojana (PMJDY) account holders.

Later in the day, Modi will fly to the state capital Bengaluru to attend a public function organised by the Vedanta Bharati at the Palace Grounds.

In the evening, he would inaugurate the 110km Bidar-Kalaburgi railway track in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region that would reduce the distance between Bengaluru and New Delhi by 380km and travel time by six to eight hours.

Since he has done structural changes there is bound to to be temorory disruptions. We need a transparent & clean economy. All parties have their share of crooks. If Jay is guilty let him be Puished. When a structural change is made it affects all wether they are BJP or Congress. that is why i gave credit to Modi. There are many shell companies having the Politiciams drivers as directors.. The linking Aadhhar with PAN cards will make it difficult for people to have multiple PAN cards. Multiple ration cards will be eleiminated. The linking of telephone numberswith Aadhhar will make it dificult for for many fraudsters including anti India elements. This will affect all the crooks wether ther are i BJP or Congress.

There is nothing called Temple gesture as regards the food we eat outside the Temple. Modi is notorious for Religious drama even as regards food during Navarathri and Dassera.
(During his so-called "Navarathri fasting" last month he drank Mineral water costing whopping Rs.18 lakhs in only nine days, which means he drank mineral water worth Rs.2 lakh per day at taxpayers' expenses).
That is why Modi told all his chelas to publicize that he came to Dharmasthala without taking breakfast. Otherwise how media came to know how he came without taking breakfast unless he himself told it?

Only religious tolerant people will visit God's house, whether it is masjid, mandir, church or Gurudwara. God always looks at our heart, mind and deeds and not what we eat, drink or dress. If someone will skip breakfast and visit temple first which will become a national news is not to please God, but, to fool people.

    Well said Anand!

This country was just built in the last 3 years of Modi's rule.... Prior to this we were just nomad. The previous governments (Congress, Janata Dal, Vajpayee BJP) never knew how to run a country.

The matter of fact is that the fearless man you know is full of fear.... that is major reason now while the election is nearing he running around the temples to seek divine grace. Further from the temple he trying to fools the Almighty (like in Kedarnath).

Think like an Progressive Indian, let any political party run the country but need to lead in a systematic way like cutting down on Red tape / Crony Capitalism / saving the country from the corrupt be it the person of the Own Party or the Grand Old Party who have ruled the most of number of years.

Then we can call him fearless / Shaktiman so on so forth.......

So, at last Media people were very very very eager to see Modi's 56 inch chest.
But he was wearing Shawl to hide his chest. So, Entire Chamcha Media was disappointed.

Now Arnab Goswami will NOT shout from roof top that Nation wants to know why Modi was hiding his 56 inch holy Chest, which even priest could not see inside the temple. Besides removing shirt but hiding chest with shawl is most illogical as covering chest with shawl is as good as wearing shirt itself!!

Manjunath Eshwara, bless our beloved PM Modiji,

Energy lost in a day’s work is regained through a temple visit and one is refreshed.
Dharmasthala temple is located at a place where earth’s magnetic wave path passes through densely .The positive energy that is spread out in the entire temple and especially around where the main idol is placed, are simply absorbed by one’s body and mind. One can claim to remain healthy by regularly visiting the Temples. This is why our elders used to suggest us to offer prayers at the temple so that you will be cured of many ailments.ates, inscribed with Vedic scripts,.The copper plate absorbs earth’s magnetic waves and radiates it to the surroundings. Thus a person regularly visiting a temple and walking clockwise around the Main Idol receives the beamed magnetic waves and his body absorbs it. Scientifically, it is the positive energy that we all require to have a healthy life.

On account of the Prime Minister's visit, the temple administration has restricted public entry till 2 p.m. on Sunday. - EVEN GOD IS RESTRICTED TO BLESS PILGRIMS??!! PRACTICE EQUALITY AT LEAST IN FRONT OF GOD. If it's protocol I don't think in any grand religious places in any part of the world would suspend or interrupt the routine for any Leader, Sultan or Pope.

Your ruling Tipperamaya Khangress along with Bangalore city corporation BBMP has filled Hondas only where he travels. BJP has nothing to do with it. This has been done only to save Khangress's ugly politics & to cover-up their ugly face from zero utilization of centre's funds.

Hitesh, U love politics above the healthy roads! Whats wrong if the roads from Bajpe to Dharmasthala get a royal repair and a plane road like runway on account of our beloved PM? Most people would love to have good roads on any ones account! Its tax payers money! Our MP's are not very capable otherwise our highways would have had better life today, and also saving few lives from bad roads! People of Shivamogga too are paying same or less tax but better roads in exchange for retaining chair! I do agree some Bangalore roads are bad...that does not mean we in Mangalore too should put up with unworthy roads! May be you are happy with Mangalore Roads...most of us are not!

    @Ronald D, Udupi

Why that your term 'Royal repair' be applied to all main roads, cross roads, roads of gullies/ಓಣಿs by Khangress led Mangalore City Corporation & Tipperamaya led Karnataka ? Why patch up & cover-up of roads only during the time PM Modiji's visits? Why can't a common man experience a Royal type of Road or path way & be safely driven to his home from office/city ? Why can't city corporation & state government completely utilize the centre's funds of Grameena Sadak Yojana ? Why there must be a corruption & zero utilization of funds by state government ? Are they not interested in State Development ? If so, let there be a change in Leadership by dissolving the state assembly & calling a immediate fresh election ! A common man wants development, not corruption & appeasements !
