It is indeed a great service to people and as stated by I.G.P. Mr. Nimbalket the policemen of all ranks should be PEOPLE FRIENDLY. I have seen people connected with the department of Law and Order and crime in many parts of the world and more particularly in India and America.

I had the opportunity of introducing former D.G.P. Mr. Colaco to the chief of the police in Bowling Green, Ohio who took him round the tour of the place. The system followed in many countries is different. The people connected with Law and order are PEOPLE FRIENDLY. They take the erring people to task but are not rude to the public.

In India "People see changes in the language and behaviour of trainees once they wear the uniform. This should not happen. One may not be able to solve all problems, but one can always listen to the grievances of people. It is then that half the problems get solved," he said.

The Superintendent of Police in Udupi Mr. Sanjiv Patil has a reputation as PROBLEM SOLVER. He has all the patience to listen to grievances before judging people.
