Eight killed in Malaysia road accident


Kuala Lumpur, Oct 24 (IANS): At least eight people were killed and 33 others injured in a road accident in Malaysia's Penang state on Tuesday.

The accident took place at around 5.30 a.m., reports Xinhua news agency.

A bus ferrying Indonesian and Nepalese workers, had stopped on the left side of the road after an engine problem. Another bus failed to brake in time and rammed into it, the police said.

The two buses were carrying factory workers from Sony and Plexus, which have manufacturing business in the Penang state.

Out of the 33 injured, 23 sustained serious injuries, the police added.
