Modi extends greetings on 72nd UN day


New Delhi, Oct 24 (IANS): Appreciating the UN's effort in promoting world peace, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended his greetings on the 72nd UN Day.

"Greetings on UN Day. We appreciate UN's efforts in promoting world peace and laud the wide range of initiatives under its guidance," Modi tweeted.

He also said that "India is proud of the steadfast support and active participation in several UN initiatives aimed at making our world a better place".

UN Day marks the anniversary of the entry into force of the UN charter in 1945. October 24 has been celebrated as UN Day since 1948.
