Udupi, Oct 23: A pillion rider lost her life after the motor bike on which she was seated collided with another motor bike near Asheervad Talkies, Santhekatte, on the evening of Saturday October 21.
Jayalakshmi (36), native of Baikady, Brahmavar, was the victim of this accident. She was travelling to Malpe beach along with her elder sister and daughter. On the way, she got down from the three-wheeler and travelled on a motor bike driven by a friend.
After another motor bike hit the two-wheeler she was seated on, Jayalakshmi got forcefully tossed onto the road. She suffered critical injuries and died on the spot. The motor bike rider, who was overtaken by fear at this sudden accident, fled from the scene.
The police, who have registered a case and begun investigation, have identified the bike rider, it is gathered.
