Congress attacks BJP MP for comparing Nehru-Gandhi with garbage

Guwahati, Oct 23 (IANS): A BJP MP from Assam came under attack on Sunday for comparing Mahatma Gandhi and India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru with garbage.

"The Congress has pushed the Nehru-Gandhi garbage into the minds of people over the years and there is now no space for any other theory," the Lok Sabha member from Jorhat Kamakhya Prasad Tasa said on Saturday at a public rally at Sonari in Sivsagar district.

The Congress demanded the MP's arrest. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal was seated on the podium where Tasa was speaking.

The Congress in Assam staged state-wide protests on Sunday in protest against the MP and lodged an FIR in a Guwahati police station.

"The MP ... described Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi as garbage. Therefore, we seek his immediate arrest and prosecution under the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC)," read the FIR.

"Comparing Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi with garbage is an unpardonable offence and we demand his immediate arrest for the crime he has committed," said Assam Congress leader Ripun Bora.

    *Sardar Patel Vs Nehru*

    Sardar Patel didn't own a watch. Wore 30 yr old pair of glasses. His grandson lived in an MIG flat. Compare that with Nehru's descendants.

    Whats name of sardar wife, son or daughter!! we dont even know that?

    When Sardar’s daughter went to return party fund after his death, Nehru didn’t even look at her, leave asking about well being.

    In her last days she couldn’t even afford a cataract operation, and would fall on road while walking on footpath.

    Where does sardar Patel's family stand today and Nehru family? Did Patel's family deserve nothing in independent India?

    The genuine gandhi/Patel faded away while the ones who stole the gandhi surname gulped away everything.

    Wake up Slaves before it's too late, say no to Pappu and ask a common man to be a new Congress Party President. If you don't have guts for that, stop criticising other political parties.

    If you have so much of concern to whom the govt is spending thousands of crores to build a stone statue for Sardar Patel, why not give the money to the family of the Sardar. What will the Statue give to the family?

    Now bhakts answer calling garbage to Father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi and first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru who was also freedom fighter is not Anti national. shouldn't be he booked under anti national activity.

    I do not consider Nehru as a big freedom fighter. He was a mere selfish politician just like current politicians.
    Mahatma Gandhi was not so. He left family, job etc for freedom movement. Even British considered him as India's representative for freedom. The point is he had very difficult time because of Muslims (league) . Lot of communal violence in Bengal, Mumbai etc. So he has to take call on separate Muslim country. Otherwise Brits would not leave and there won't be smooth power transition.
    Only fault Gandhi did was, once separate Muslim country was formed, he did not ask all the Muslims to leave India....
