Gujarat Patidar leader presents wads of notes, alleges BJP tried to buy him

Ahmedabad, Oct 23 (IANS): In a sting operation of sorts, Patidar leader from North Gujarat Narendra Patel on Sunday dropped a bombshell, presenting wads of currency notes and alleged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tried to buy him.

The allegation has come just a day after two Patidar leaders joined the BJP.

Narendra Patel, who had last month lodged a police complaint against Hardik Patel and three supporters in Patan in North Gujarat and later withdrew it, told a press conference that Patidar leader Varun Patel who joined the BJP on Saturday evening, took him to meet Gujarat BJP President Jitubhai Vaghani and other leaders on Sunday.

"Varun took me around in Gandhinagar and then took me to Shree Kamalam office of the BJP and introduced me to Jitubhai Vaghani and some ministers. He then took me to a room and handed over a bag of Rs 10 lakh cash as token and promised to pay me Rs 90 lakh tomorrow after a party function which I was required to attend," Patel told a crowded a press conference late on Sunday.

Narendra Patel 'joined' the BJP just a couple of hours earlier before he made the allegations, and was welcomed with a saffron scarf in front of media cameras.

He said: "It all happened in so much hurry, they immediately called the media to present me and I had to make that show."

"They made a deal of Rs 1 crore on me. One crore? Even if they bestow the entire Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on me, I will not be bought over. Even if I have to die, fighting for the cause," Patel claimed.

Narendra Patel is the convenor of North Gujarat, Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS), of Hardik Patel.

BJP done it in Karnataka, shamelessly under Yuddi. Entire karnataka watched this dirty game with dis-belief and contempt. Despite overwhelming evidence, BJP blamed others, but people realized they are guilty.

BJP, learnt from that experience, improved and doing the same operation around the country. A politicians greed for money and power is known to everyone.

Till the time people won't dump BJP and the leaders who are hopping parties for greed of power, must be forced to loose. Only then there could be a chance for development.

Garibee hatao was late Indira Gandhi's slogan in 1971. She had to a great extent helped the poor by distributing rations, land to landless people.

In Karnataka, it was under Devaraj Urs, this was implemented and those who have benefited under this scheme, today happened to be the detractors of Congress party. Most of them have forgotton andac many of them are carried by religious fanatism, development hype.

I still salute late Indira Gandhi for her Garibee hatao slogan and she had put this into action.
