Yemen President, UN envoy discuss peace solutions


Aden, Oct 22 (IANS/WAM): Yemeni President Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi met with Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the UN Secretary-General's envoy to the war-torn country to discuss ways to revive solutions for peace.

During the meeting on Saturday, the two sides discussed peace prospects.

The Yemeni President reiterated his administration's support for peace based on the three points of references, which are the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue, and the relevant UN resolutions.

Hadi explained that the coup militia continue to cause suffering and the exploitation of the Yemeni people, including the recruitment of children to implement their agendas.

The UN envoy expressed his support of the international community's efforts to achieve peace in accordance with the three reference points, saying there was a number of ideas to build on, including continuing the peace process and further dialogue, and the Kuwait-based consultations.
