Dubai: Satisha Shetty wins ENOC Award for contribution to Energy Engg

Dubai, Oct 19: Satisha Shetty, on Tuesday, October 17, received the prestigious 'Energy Award' from Emirates National Oil Company for being the Best Energy Technical Committee Member, at the Hyatt Regency Creek Heights, here. He received the award for being the most engaged, transparent and personally committed executive.

During his tenure in Dubai, and Satisha's interest developed towards energy consumption in convenience stores. He found that the annual energy consumption was approximately 25 to 30% more than the global average. Energy bench-marking had been conducted in convenience stores in Europe and the US but for convenience stores in the UAE these studies were the first of their kind.

The study highlighted methods to decrease annual energy consumption depending on selected energy-efficiency measures, annual energy consumption savings. Satisha found that circa 300 kWh/m2 could be achieved in a conventional convenience store, with a simple payback period of three to six years.





At the programme, Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group Chief Executive Officer, ENOC, Dr Waddah Ghanem Al Hashmi, Executive Director, EHSSQ and Corporate Affairs, chairman, ENOC E&RM Technical Committee were present on the dais.

Dubai Supreme Energy Counsel representatives, ENOC EXCOM Members, DEWA members, Dubai Carbon Guests, ENOC E&RM steering committee members and ENOC E&RM Technical Committee members were among the dignitaries and guests present.

About Sathisha Shetty

Belonging to a tiny village, Balkur in Kundapura, Kandavara Sathisha Shetty is the fourth son of late Molahalli Gopalkrishna Shetty and Kandavara Devaki Shetty. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from BIET Davangere, Karnataka, and attained a masters degree in Sustainable Energy from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, UK.

He has worked with Dubai government company, ENOC as a senior engineer since 2011.

Sathisha Shetty is a specialist in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning for industrial facilities in oil and gas, commercial premises and high-rise, mixed-use buildings up to 40 floors. With more than 15 years of GCC experience in MEP, he has taken on a variety of responsibilities, including concept development, FEED, detailed design, tender packages, engineering cost estimates, bidding, project cost control, tender technical evaluations and recommendations, project management, and project accounting.
