Mangaluru, Oct 16: Several local BJP leaders and members were detained by the police after they staged a road blockade at the busy PVS circle here on Monday October 16.

The district BJP leaders were protesting against minister Roshan Baig for his recent derogatory comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The protestors, which also included women, sat in dharna at the PVS circle and blocked traffic.

They raised slogans condemning Baig and demanding his resignation.

The police intervened and rounded them up, and took them away in police vans.

Those detained included BJP district president Sanjeeva Matandoor, Roopa D Bangera, Monappa Bhandary, Yogish Bhat, Brijesh Chowta, Kishore Rai and others.

All these road shows are just staged Dramas. The BJP has nothing concrete to talk about the Central Govt or the famous Gujarat Model of Development because they are aware what ever was promised before the last general elecitons were just Jhumla Politics. Freedom of Speech is a fundamental Right. Why is the BJP not filing a defamation case of 200 crores against Roshan Baig instead of indulging in such gimmicks on the roads.
