Udupi, Oct 15: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Yoga guru Baba Ramdev will be among the participants in the much-anticipated national-level 'Dharma Samsad' (religious parliament) being organized by the VHP in Udupi from November 24 to 26.

This was announced by VHP leader Gopalji in a press meet here on Sunday October 15.

"VHP is all set to organize Dharma Samsad' from November 24 in Udupi. Around 2,000 religious leaders of the Hindu community from across the country will take part in the religious parliament. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Guruji, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and other spiritual and religious leaders will take part and witness all forms of tradition and culture of our land.

"On November 26, a session will be held on caste discrimination of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, and other issues like Hindu independence, cow protection, and comprehensive cow protection law. The Samsad will pass resolutions on banning cow slaughter, stopping religious conversions, harmony within Hindu society and construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

"State and district leaders will also take part in the discussion. The same day, there will be a mega procession followed by public meeting," he said.

"Paryaya Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math will be the president of the Dharma Samsad welcome committee, Dharmasthala Dharamadhikari Veerendra Heggade will be the vice-president. The patron of the event will be Mysuru Maharaja Yaduveer Krishan Datta Chamaraja Wodeyar, chancellor of Nitte University Dr Vinay Hegde, and Erya Laxmi Narayana Alva. Chairperson of Vivekananda Yoga centre Dr H R Nagendra will take charge," said Gopalji.

"Accommodation will be arranged for the sages who attend the Dharma Samsad programme. On the occasion, an exhibition will be organized to showcase the Hindu culture. A rath yatra will be carried out from October 25 till the day of the event to deliver the message of Dharma Samsad," he said.

Vice-president of Vishwa Hindu Parishat M B Puranik, Bajrang Dal leader Sharan Pumpwell, Vilas Nayak and others were present.

'Politicians breaking society'

Prior to the press meet, Gopalji inaugurated Dharma Samsad preliminary meet of Udupi city representative at Raghavendra Math here.

"Today, politicians are breaking down the society in the name of caste. Politicians are greedy about politics and forming groups within the community and enjoying power due to the conflicts that occur," he said.

"Politics breaks society. There is only one religion that will connect the society. Vishwa Hindu Parishad is not limited to any caste and class but it connects without any discrimination," he added.

Secretary T A P Shenoy said, "Hinduism cannot be preserved only by education, you have to be energetic. Representatives should be enthusiastic."

District president Vilas Nayak, Dr Vijayalaxmi Deshamani, Bajrang Dal convener K R Sunil, Dinesh Mendon and others were present.

Conversion of religion is not a crime it is a right of human to choose the way they like to live or the way they like to worship. Why we need all baba or preist or mullas to enforce rules and regulations for that. Practice or preach to live in peace rather preach of hatred has no place in any society. Don't make people to fear and live life in a prisoners ways . Hindus are always peace lovers. All those comes from outside of mangalore create mess in our society. Like to see our mangalore we had 25 years back so peacefull. Day by day it's getting worse now. It's sad. People come and go but don't seed the hatred around in our society.

After seeing of allowing namaz in Udupi Srikrishna complex on Eid day this year by Swamiji, all these activities so called Dharma Sansad looks absurd for me.None of the above persons questioned the above event, when secularism is in the blood of hindus ,then what was the need to making a show of secularism in that way?.Surprisingly, to support the mistake they, started refering the way of life and connections with mutt of great leaders of Udupi and Srikrishna devotee like late Hajee Khan Bahadur Abdulla Saheb in a different way...
Perhaps Sri Sri Sri ,Baba Ramdev and Yogiji did not know this.

Hinduism can be better preserved by following good traditions and culture. We need to help society through spread of values and education. If we look into the ancient history we can see high values being followed.
These days we find more preachers than followers.

We also need to exercise restraint while living in a diverse culture. I urge our fellow commentators to exercise restraint while commenting on religions, since it might turn sensitive.

    4. harmony within Hindu society . when it has not happened for hundreds of years , how will these Hypocrites do it in few days.

5.Construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya may after 100 years another party will say construction of Babri Masjid.

Great step by vhp. Hindus should unite regardless of their caste. Steps should b taken to appoint more n more dalits as temple priests n proper training should be provided to them.Hindus across political parties should unite. Vhp should take stern step towards casteless hinduism. Gradually caste system shd come to an end. Appeasement politics should come to an end. Forced conversion should be banned.

It is amazing that when a election comes near these Dharma Samad and Ram Mandir issues crop up as we all remember these same issues cropped up during last election and what did stop BJP building Ram Mandir from time of Vajpey's government onwards and Modi has absolute majority in Parliament. So what has stopped BJP from doing this? I hope educated and intelligent people of DK don't fall this trap by extreem parties who are doing this at behest of BJP to gain some votes.
