Udupi: State govt playing politics in Gauri Lankesh murder suspects' sketches - VHP

Udupi, Oct 15: VHP secretary Gopalji on Sunday October 15 stirred a controversy by claiming that the state Congress government had played dirty politics by showing one of the suspects in Gauri Lankesh murder case as belonging to Hindu outfit by way of sketching his portrait with a 'nama'. He was referring to the sketches of the three suspects released by the police in Bengaluru on Saturday October 14.

Speaking to reporters here, Gopalji said, "We too are saddened by Gauri Lankesh's murder. We do not believe in murder and violence. We too want a thorough investigation into Gauri's murder and demand that the culprits be stringently punished.

"But whenever a murder is committed in Karnataka, the blame is put on Hindu organizations. Even when Prof Kalburagi was murdered, Hindu outfits were blamed, but it has been proved that the allegation was false. The state government tried hard to prove that Kuttappa's death during Tipu Jayanti celebration was due to natural causes, but it failed to do so," he said.

"So this fresh allegation is nothing new. Truth will ultimately prevail. Like the sun, even truth cannot be covered for long. But investigation should progress in the right manner," he added.

"In the past, the country has seen attempts to ban Bajrang Dal and VHP. But people have faith in these organizations, that is why it has not been possible to ban them. Now again political attempts are being made to this end, but these also will fail.

Criticising the state government's anti-superstition bill, Gopalji said, "This government is out to destroy the belief system of the Hindus in the name of curbing superstitions. It is just not right. Hindus do not believe in superstitions, but we have our beliefs. The Bible says the world is flat and missionaries to this day espouse the same. The superstition about number 13 has orginated from England. All these are superstitions, and science itself has said so. Let the government drive away these kinds of superstitions, and not Hindu practices and beliefs. The government should not play with religious beliefs and should drop the idea of having such a bill."

I am embarrassed to be a Hindu - VHP doesn't represent me! Nor do they represent millions of other
    Hindus!
    They're not elected - they're selected for their MONEY-POWER!
VHP shouldn't be in Politics - they should be preaching religion, be compassionate, caring and giving.
Follow some of the other religions - develop Humane ways to support us.
Give us an account of all the money that pours in to your coffers, show us where the money is going like
    other religious leaders do.
How can I and my family follow YOU GUYS - You're prejudiced, biased and selfish.
You don't hurt animals but don't spare fellow countrymen!!!!!!!!!!
    Think about it?

well anti superstition bill is needed to curb witchcraft and human sacrifice and Hinduism is no far from such things as Sati System, Juahar, female infanticide, caste system still prevails in certain parts of India but i dont know why VHP is trying to make it official that these are not related to Hinduism but sadist and chauvinistic attitudes of male who run the society. these people who ask for Hindu rastra should remind themselves for some upper castes Thakur the Hinduism only means to supplement their selfish motives but not Hinduism itself, because still Hindus are killing Hindus in UP and MP due to rigid slave mentality of Aryan Thakurs . Certain castes of Hindus only awake when their pocket is burned, now same people are Modi haters who once supported them. These is nothing but inferred from two people for whom money is only God, then this upper caste swine also told to me about his daughter and son when asked about marriage - One thing comes and one thing goes. Funny he is rigid Hindu and this is what he thinks about daughters, a burden .........or this talk was about dowry maybe........... Slowly as i see BJP central govt is there only there to impose Hindu Nation because a physics teacher becomes a Minister of Home Affairs and does nothing, a road and transport and Highway minister is sleeping and doing nothing but improve his income from paper and sugar mills. there are no reforms in India which doesn't require GST income and demonetisation to take effect, but just law to pass. looks like the way Central BJP acts their only interest is to please their RSS masters
