Bengaluru, Oct 10: While Karnataka BJP President and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Union minister Ananth Kumar are yet to publicly react to the report confirming that the voices in the video clip in which they were heard discussing about the payment of kickback to the high-command as theirs, BJP’s opposition leader in the State Assembly Jagadish Shettar has raised questions about the authenticity of the tapes.

Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, he wondered how the FSL report was obtained in just 20 days that included several holidays.

"Home Department advisor Kempaiah and DGP M N Reddy are suspected to be involved in getting such a report from the FSL," Shettar alleged.

He said this was clearly part of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s political vendetta, who wants to get Yeddyurappa arrested at any cost.

The BJP leader claimed that the entire CD of the programme in which Yeddyurappa and Ananth Kumar participated should be probed, as the video clip provided by the Congress leaders is a doctored one.

"The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has not yet initiated probe on the complaint filed by the BJP, against ministers and others for fabricating false evidence in this case," he said.

The CID gave a clean chit to minister K J George in DySP M K Ganapathy suicide case, without getting the FSL report during a 40-day probe, while the FSL report was obtained very fast in this case is suspicious, he said.

Though a total of 28 cases against Siddaramaiah and his family members are filed with the ACB, he said only cases against Opposition leaders are taken up immediately, due to political vengeance of the Chief Minister.

"A false case was filed against me also, after I unearthed Arkavathy Layout denotifaction case," Shettar alleged.

"If Siddaramaiah has no role in Arkavathy Layout case, why Kempanna Commission report is not disclosed? We will demand to table it before the Legislative Assembly in the next session," he said.

It may be recalled that the alleged incident in which Yeddyurappa and Ananth Kumar were discussing at a meeting in the State BJP office in February this year that even they had given money to the BJP central leadership and the CD was released by the Congress leaders

The Congress leaders later filed a complaint with the police, requesting for an investigation. The Cyber Crime police, who had registered a case, had summoned the duo to give voice samples, but they did not turn up.

The police had moved the court, which directed the two leaders to cooperate with the investigation.

In September, the police sent both the original CD and voice samples of Yeddyurappa and Ananth Kumar to the FSL, which submitted its analysis to the police on October saying, "Similarities were observed in fundamental frequency measurement of vowels in words selected from questioned and sample recordings."

The police had registered the case under Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 124A (sedition) of the IPC and other provisions of the Information Technology Act.
