CM plan to share stage with Ajit, Tatkare raises eyebrows

Mumbai, Oct 8 (TOI): In a move that has raised eyebrows, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis is set to share the stage with controversial NCP leaders Ajit Pawar and Sunil Tatkare, who are under investigation in the irrigation scam.

Fadnavis is releasing a book, Samagra, on three decades of Tatkare in public life, on October 9 in the presence of NCP president Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar, former home minister Sushilkumar Shinde, former CM Narayan Rane, NCP leaders Praful Patel and Supriya Sule, legislative council chairman Ramraje Nimbalkar and actor Nana Patekar.

"Bravo CM, you have done a great job. You will now share the dais with the cleanest people of Maharashtra. Why did you even fight the irrigation scam, was it a show? Rest in Peace irrigation scam," social worker Anjali Damania said in a message.

Following a PIL by Damania in the HC demanding a probe into the irrigation scam, the state government had said it would conduct an open inquiry against Ajit Pawar and Tatkare.
