Dubai: Kannada film ‘March 22’ sees houseful all over UAE

Dubai, Oct 7: Kannada film ‘March 22’ produced by famous well-known Dubai based businessman Harish Sherigar and wife Sharmila Sherigar released in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and other places in UAE on Friday, October 6. The shows of the film are running to packed houses and ‘March 22’ is being appreciated by film lovers.

The film’s screening in Dubai was inaugurated by actor Anant Nag after lighting the lamp in the presence of Harish Sherigar and Sharmila Sherigar. Veteran actress Gayatri Anant Nag, U-Turn, Rangitaranga fame actress Radhika Chetan, music director Manikanth Kadri, Suvarna Sathish, and Dinesh Sherigar were welcomed into the cinema hall with Indian tradition of beating drums.

The film directed by Kodlu Ramakrishna under the banner of ACME movies has been praised in Karnataka by film-buffs as well as critics. It is based on a unique story of communal harmony and scarcity of water. There is a positive response on social media about the film.

Houseful shows in Abu Dhabi

‘March 22’ was screened at Oscar Cinema in Abu Dhabi. Well-known Dubai businessman Padmashree Dr B R Shetty, Anant Nag, Gayathri, Harish and Sharmila Sherigar, Sudhir Kumar Shetty and Sarvotham Shetty lit the traditional lamp and inaugurated the film’s screening.

Movie lovers gathered in front of the talkies in the morning. As Anant Nag, Gayathri and Radhika Chetan arrived at Dubai Hayat Regency Gallery theatre, fans surrounded them, took pictures and celebrated. Those who watched the film opined that the film which presented a message of communal harmony between Hindus and Muslims to the society should win several awards.

Anant Nag and his wife Gayathri were felicitated by Harish and Sharmila Sherigar with shawl and Mysuru peta during first screening in Dubai. B R Shetty felicitated the Nag couple in the evening during the film’s screening in Abu Dhabi.

The film has Anant Nag, Geetha, Sharath Lohitashwa, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Sadhu Kokila, Jai Jagadish, Ravi Kale, Vinaya Prasad, Padmaja Rao, Ramesh Bhat, Srinivas Murthi, Ravindranath, Aryavardhan, Kiran Raj, Meghashree, Deepthi Shetty, Kishore, Srajan Rai, Shanta Acharya, Dubai drama artiste Chidananda Poojary, Suvarna Sathish, and Prabhoshitha.

Manikant Kadri and Ravi Shanker have composed the music. S P Balasubrahmanyam, Kailash Kher, Karthik, Anuradha Bhat, Harish Sherigar, Ravishekar Rajamaga and Askhatha Rao have sung the songs which are already a hit.
