Udupi: Fire erupts at Pramod Madhwaraj's fish mill at Malpe

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (EP)

Udupi, Oct 3: Huge fire erupted at Raj Fish Mill, owned by district in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj, at Malpe here on Tuesday October 3.

The mill caught fire at around 4.15 pm, reportedly due to short circuit. The boiler in the mill was gutted in the fire.

Workers who noticed fire in one of the boilers immediately ran out, thus saving themselves.

As the boiler was made of fibre, thick black smoke billowed out, causing anxiety and panic in the vicinity.

Malpe fire brigade staff and assistant inspector Bevappa Pategar rushed to the spot and led the operation to douse the fire. The fire fighters ensured that the fire did not spread and extinguished the flames within half an hour.

The loss is estimated at several lacs of rupees. No injuries were reported.

Thank God there was no loss of life in this fire. Only there was property damage which I sure will be covered by insurance. The workers were lucky enough to get out before they could be trapped in this fire.

If he doesn't have insurance also he won't loot money like Yeddy and Reddy. He is born rich and very nice human. If you go to his house he won't ask you whether you are a Hindu, Muslim or Christian. Our country must fill with people like him. God bless him and his family abundantly.

    Wha.. Wha...
Finally you want poor public to pay him through insurance companies.
Instead insist him to find out and resolve the root cause.
His irresponsibility has caused damage to the environment a lot. Who will bring that to us?

Mr Singapur Kundapur, can you help me to know why there is insurance company?
Let me clear it for you, Im no fan of Congress nor BJP.
But your statement doesn't give the base to prove what you want to say?
Who is poor public? and do you know the operations of insurance company? Even the poor goes into the loss Insurance company pays them. Just because he is a politician you cant just blaim him!

If you were the owner of such small units and the same has happend the what you would have done? Would have rejected the insurance saying that money is from Poor and I dont want to? Even insurance company makes more profit than what they pay when losses incur to an insured unit or a person ! Sir.. Please expand ua knowledge and give best to the society which is knowledgeable.

Half educated are more dangerous to the society than the uneducated! - Let us not come under such Radar!

Hope the employees working over there are safe which is more important than Insured amount!

If a company does not follow statutory safety regulations, insurance need not have to pay. (Same like, if the car driver has no driving license and makes an accident, insurance wont pay to the first party). I have advised Madhwaraj to analyze and eliminate the root cause. I want to avoid loss to him and also potential loss to workers / public. Is it wrong? May be you are wearing yellow goggles.

Many insurance companies in India are still state owned. Any loss to these companies is loss to public.

By the way, from where BJP or Congress comes here? Madhwaraj mother is in BJP and Madhwaraj is in congress. Your thinking surprising me and all commentators in this forum. Do you think only BJP and Congress related comments to be typed here? If so, you are degrading the genuine intent of our favorite Daijiworld for giving us an opportunity for commenting.

God is great... No one is injured...
Great job by fire dept who doused the fire early...
    Time to retrospect and introspect...
Safety is the responsibility of all...
Always look around and remove/rectify unsafe items...
Short circuit however is a unfortunate possibility which normally can not be identified...
