Mangaluru: Dasara procession culminates with the immersion at Kudroli

Mangaluru, Oct 1: Mangaluru Dasara procession, known for its grandeur, devotion, enthusiastic activists and attractive tableax, culminated with the immersion of 12 idols including nine forms of Goddess Durga, idol lf Goddess Sharada, apart from Adi Shakti and Ganapathi, in the temple pond at Kudroli.

Over 65 tableax carrying artistes performing tiger dances, mythological scenes, still pictures, DJs, other dancers etc which began their journey on Saturday evening, traversed a nine-kilometre route via Lady Hill, PVS Circle, Hampankatta and car street before reaching Lord Gakarnanatheshwara temple at Kudroli on Sunday morning. People who lined up streets through which the procession went through, feasted on the scenes to their hearts content through their eyes.





People from far off places too had come to witness the grandeur of the procession. As live TV coverage was provided, lacs of people could witness the entire procession by sitting in the comforts of their homes. The time, energy and money spent by activists and volunteers involved with the entire Dasara festival came in for lavish praise by the people of the city, who have now begun their eager wait for the next Dasara to happen.
