Moodbidri, Sep 26: In an incident reported from Padukonaje within the local police station limits, the body of a woman was found hanging from a tree inside a thicket there on Tuesday September 26. The deceased was Gangu Poojarthi (60), resident of Padukonaje.
The thicket where Gangu's body was found is located near her home. Gangu had gone missing since Monday evening. Her body was found during the search operation launched by her family members along with some locals.
Strangely, the hands of the lady were found to have been tied together at the back. This has given rise to suspicion that Gangu was murdered.
Moodbidri police, who visited the spot and arranged for lowering the body and conducting postmortem, have begun investigation.
