Power for all by Dec 2018, all villages to be electrified this year

New Delhi, Sep 25 (PTI): Power Minister R K Singh today said India will achieve the target of power for all by December next year, while all villages will be electrified by the end of this year, much ahead of the schedule.

Government had set the deadline for electrifying all villages by May 1, 2018. Similarly, it was aiming to provide 24X7 power to all by March, 2019.

"Prime Minister has said December 2018 is the target. We will do it. This is a tight target but we will do. Every household will get electricity by December 2018," Singh said at the launch of 'Saubhagya' scheme for providing power to all households.

"One more important target we have got, that is 24X7 power, reliable and quality power. We will take a proposal to the Prime Minister," he said.

Singh also talked about the pre-paid model to be adopted for electricity to all households as per government plans.

He stressed on the need for developing skills for the power sector and said that "there is need for skill development for grid and feeder maintenance".

He called upon the industry to invest in the power sector saying that in the coming year, the demand for electricity is going to increase in view of high growth economy.

"I appeal to the industry to come and invest. India's energy requirement is going to quadruple. You please come and invest," he added.

The government has been working hard to electrify all the villages in the country and also want to achieve 24X7 Power for All by March, 2019.

In the 2015 Independence day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that the government will electrify the remaining 18,452 unelectrified villages in 1,000 day. However, the power ministry is expected electrify all the inhabited villages by December this year.

According to GARV portal, out of the 18,452 villages, 14,483 villages have been electrified so far. The electrification work is in progress for 2,981 villages while 988 villages are uninhabited.

The portal also indicates that out of the 17.92 core households in the rural areas, 13.87 crore families have got electricity connection. As many as 4.05 crore families are yet to provided electricity connection.

Now No Scams and Govt Exchequer is full with demonetized notes and the gains from hike in fuel prices.

Because of the excellent administration of this present cow Govt, Economy is like sinking ship.

When it comes of Money all the political parties are like different faces of same coin and for Politicians politics is only a money minting business. No Nationalism and no love on poor at all.

If the previous Govt has so many scams, how many of them are sent to jail by the present honest Govt.?

All vote bank politics by diverting the attention of people from real issues and keep burning the unnecessary issues.

Electric poles and wires will be installed to entice you but NO ELECTRICITY!!!!!!!. Electricity Promise will be only after 2019 if elected to power, then on 2024 and then on 2029, and so on. Our hope is a main asset for BJP.

Modi’s government is aiming to supply power to all citizens in the world’s second-most populous nation by 2019.India’s slowing economic expansion may be a challenge to the country hitting the CEA’s power demand growth estimates. Gross domestic product grew at the weakest pace in more than two years in the three months to March, dragged down by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cash ban in November and the weight of the country’s bad bank debts.
Demand for electricity grew 2.6 percent in the last fiscal year, slipping for a second year and undershooting the CEA’s 9 percent forecast. Consumption this year is estimated to increase by 7.6 percent, according to Bloomberg calculations based on the CEA’s outlook.
The country’s power plants are forecast to produce 8.8 percent more electricity than its distributors will demand during the year to March, the Central Electricity Authority said in an annual generation report last week. That would be the only surplus in records going back to the year ended March 2006.
“One of the main reasons for the lower growth in power demand is the reluctance of discoms to increase their purchases to supply uninterrupted power,”.“Several power stations in India are running at low capacity factors, producing a fraction of the power they are built to generate.”
India's power deficit is likely to rise to 5.6 percent in 2021-22 as demand starts to outstrip supply, says a study, adding that incentivising hydropower can play a crucial role in filling the deficit.
It is to be noted that Prime Minister adopted village is not having proper supply and outgoing Power Minister Piyush Goel who tweeted fake Russian road as India's development, how does this is practically achived in less than one years time?
When the demand exceed supplies how does this newly elected power Minister is going to electrify the villages? How many hours does this villages will get uninterrupted supply when urban India is facing blackouts?

One more fake promise keeping in mind 2019 elections. But people already realised what they did wrong in 2014 elections. BJP can only beg the vote in the name of religion, Ram Mandir and cow. There is no development or strategy.
