Sushma ji, thank you for recognising Congress' legacy: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Sep 24 (Zee News): Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday thanked External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on social media, for acknowledging UPA governments’ vision and legacy, in her hard-hitting speech at the 72nd Session UN General Assembly(UNGA).

Taking to Twitter, Gandhi wrote, "Sushma Ji, thank you for finally recognising Congress governments' great vision and legacy of setting up IITs and IIMs."

Earlier, the Congress Party had welcomed Swaraj's speech and praised her for replying to "those who ask what happened in the last 70 years".

"Befitting reply to those who ask what happened in last 70 years. Sushma Swaraj mirrored the yeoman's progress made by India under Congress rule, making 'inclusive growth & progress' as India's mantra," Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala had said in a series of tweets.

Addressing the UNGA session in New York, Swaraj on Saturday ripped apart Pakistan and said that India has established institutions like IITs, IIMs and AIIMS and Pakistan had created terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Haqqani network.

"There have been many governments under many parties during 70 years of Indian freedom, for we have been a sustained democracy. Every government has done its bit for India's development. We have marched ahead consistently without pause, in education, health and across the range of human welfare. We established scientific and technical institutions which are the pride of the world," Swaraj said.

She also questioned as to what has Pakistan offered to the world and to its own people apart from terrorism?

In a stinging response to Pakistan, Swaraj said India is completely engaged in fighting poverty whereas as Islamabad seems engaged in fighting New Delhi.

The External Affairs Minister also hit out at Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahid Khakan Abbasi, saying that that the latter wasted too much of his speech in making accusations against India.

There are people sitting in key positions within Media, but working for BJP. This is really a tragedy.
They try to either distort, tweak or never to publish factual details which are against BJP. With this last pillar of democracy is also taken a hit and the result is more corruption, more crime and more dictatorial doctrines. We all know anchors like Arnab, Navika of Times Now, the way they tweaked facts and so called apolitical leaders, with political patronage of Jaitly, making merry during 2010 to 2014. Now all are gone blind and deaf, with the post loyalty benefits.

India has progressed substantially under congress and only congress. It could have been a bit more better, certainly.

However, Modi led BJP did nothing for growth, except for their own personal growth. Today, Indian middle class is bleeding blood because they voted for BJP with a trust and with a hope. Except for Mann Ki Baath which comes to them for free, rest everything BJP and Modi has done, taken a heavy toll on their lives. Even Bhakts are very much aware of it and coming days more to come on discrediting opposition leaders, more on communal divides to emerge, as we all Indians love to forget our pain, for drama, emotion and romance.

All BJP leaders, supporters and their 'partners in crime' like Arnob, Navika kumar, Sudhir chowdry etc got their education in universities established by Congress & now questioning Congress, what they have done in the past!

Bhakths should google/youtube Ex-PM Vajapayeejee's speech in parliament, where he told "If we ignore or deny the achievements that Congress has done in past 50 years, we are doing injustice with farmers, poor & backward class people. We have grown tremendously under the Congress leadership & shown our power to entire world".

Please Bhakths... don't call Vajapayee as Dongi now

Stop this feudalistic mindset, Rajiv Gandhi gave , Indira Gandhi gave etc. What do you think if Rajiv Gandhi wasn't there India would never have TV or Internet? Non sense. All 194 countries in the world have TV and Internet who gave them? Did Rajiv Gandhi give them? TV or Internet is not Rajiv Gandhi s invention. I remember that old story about a old lady having a cock which helped villagers wake up early in the morning and the woman thought that entire village was dependent on her cock and left the village for few days with her cock thinking that villagers would never wake up on time and go to work. But later realize even without her cock the villagers would wake up on time and do their duties.
