Mumbai: Udupi resident Shobha R Poojary passes away in train accident

Mumbai, Sep 22: Shobha Raghu Poojary (55), wife of retired Bharath Bank deputy general manager Raghu Poojary, employee of Punjab and Sindh Bank passed away in a train accident at Jogeshwari railway station on Friday September 22.

She had left for work as usual at 8 am. While crossing the railway tracks near Jogeshwari railway station, she came under a speeding local train and died on the spot. Her colleagues who learnt of the news, informed her relatives. Raghu Poojary, Billavara Association Mumbai president Nithyananda Kotian, the bank's general manager Vidyananda S Karkera, officer Nithyananda S Kirodian, deputy general manager Harish Hejmady, entrepreneur V K Shetty Kalina and Rohith Bangera Hejmady rushed to the spot.

Railway police received the postmortem conducted on the body before bringing it to her residence.

She was the daughter of the well known headmistress of Municipal Kannada school Bhavani teacher. She hailed from Udupi Vadiraj road and had lived for several years at Andheri west. Her only daughter is abroad. Her last rites were performed at Amboli crematorium.

Billavara Maha Mandala president, Bharath Bank executive president Jaya C Suvarna, deputy executive president advocate Rohini J Salian, former executive president Vasudev R Kotian, board of directors, managing director C R Mulki, L V Amin and N T Poojary expressed their condolences on her sad demise.
