Mangaluru: Kannada online chutuku competition , poets from DK win prizes

Mangaluru, Sep 21: In the online limerick competition known in Kannada as ‘chutuku’, organised by Kuvempu Facebook Page, the following poets have won. Two of the top prizes have been won by poets Dakshina Kannada district. Third prize has been won by a poet from Uppala in Kasargod district.

First prize: Navin Pereira, Suratkal, Dakshina Kannada.

Second prize: Flavia Albuquerque, Puttur, Dakshina Kannada and Shantharam Shetty, Indira Nagar, Bengaluru.

Third prize: Harish Sulaya Oddambettu, Uppala, Kasargod.

Consolation prizes: Harini, Kanakapura taluk, Ramanagara district and Devaraj S K Peenya, Bengaluru.

Judges were:

Belur Raghunandan, professor, Vijayanagar first grade college, poet, dramatist and member of Karnataka Natak academy.

Dr H S Satyanarayana, professor, Girijamba PU College, editor of second PU Kannada text book.

M Geetha, headmistress, Sheshadripuram school, secretary, Gandhinagar Karnataka sahitya parishat.
