Udupi: Five Nepalese arrested for stealing ornaments from Shiroor jewellery store

Udupi, Sep 19: The Udupi police on Tuesday September 19 arrested five Nepalese nationals in connection with a theft at a jewellery store in Shiroor earlier this year.

The arrested have been identified as Shivasingh Bahadur alias Shiva alias Prem, Kumar Singh Saud alias Dukiya, Ramesh Singh Parki, Hark Bahadur Saud and Prem Bahadur Saud alias Chakar Bahadur Saud. They hail from Silgadhi Doti district of Nepal.

The accused allegedly stole gold and silver from Gold Palace jewellery store in Shiroor on April 2 this year.

The police have recovered 3 kg of stolen silver anklets valued at Rs 1.8 lac from the accused.

The accused worked in fast food outlets and did other jobs.

The police have learnt that the accused were working in the area where Gold Palace is located, and chalked out the plan to commit the theft on April 2 night.

All the accused and the seized items have been handed over to Byndoor police for further investigation.

A few more persons involved in the theft are absconding with the remaining booty, and search for them is on.

The arrest operation was led by DCIB ASI Rosario D'Souza and Ravichandra, along with other police personnel under the guidance of Udupi SP Dr Sanjeev Patil.

    Where are patriots asking for deportation...Imagine a B'desh migrant doing the same .... They seems to hide and become patriots whenever it suits them based on name of the criminal...
    it is easier for a nepali to commit crime and then escape rather than for a bengali with tightened border
