Mangaluru, Sep 16: District BJP unit staged protest outside DC office on Saturday, September 16, demanding the resignation of minister K J George over the incident of DySP M K Ganapathy’s alleged suicide.

Addressing protestors, district BJP president Sanjeev Matandoor said, “BJP has pressed for CBI probe into the DySP Ganapathy suicide case and also demanded the resignation of K J George from the cabinet ever since the suicide came to light. DySP Ganapathy had clearly accused minister K J George for indulging in frequent harassment in his dying declaration. But to defend K J George, chief minister Siddaramaiah handed over the case to CID. Unfortunately, within three months, clean chit was given to K J George. Later, DySP Ganapathy's family knocked the doors of the Supreme Court demanding CBI probe into the matter which was ordered a week ago. K J George should be sacked from the cabinet as the Supreme Court has ordered CBI probe into the case.”

BJP leader Devdas Shetty said, “DySP Ganapathy was a sincere officer who served at different loactions in Dakshina Kannada. K J George, who was held responsible for his suicide due to harassment, was saved by CM Siddaramaiah and was reinstated to the cabinet. The Supreme Court has now ordered a CBI probe as they were not satisfied of the previous report from CID. The SC also stated that evidence was destroyed. We demand the resignation of minister K J George or else we will continue holding statewide protests demanding the resignation of chief minister Siddaramaiah.”

BJP general secretary Capt Brijesh Chowta said, “CM Siddaramaiah is safeguarding his close aide George in the DySP Ganapathy suicide case by giving him clean chit and reinstating him back to his cabinet. K J George is the minister for urban development and we can see a complete collapse of the infrastructure in Bengaluru. He has to resign from the cabinet at the earliest.”

BJP leaders Monappa Bhandary, Sathyajith Surathkal, Bharath Shetty, Kishore Rai, Vedavyas Kamath and others were present.

The district BJP staged a protest demanding the resignation of K J George which was held near BJP office here as the district administration banned the protest from being held at Clock Tower.

Addressing the protestors, district BJP president Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said, “The CM should seek the resignation of K J George at any cost. Siddaramaih government has given suicide bhagya to farmers and police officials. Deputy superintendent of police (DySP) M K Ganapati was known for his strict rule and was known as a prompt officer. Whilst serving in Mangaluru he took stern action against conversion. K J George is directly associated with Ganapati's suicide. For this reason he was also withdrawn from his ministership. Now the Supreme Court has ordered a CBI investigation.

"For conducting an impartial investigation, K J Geoge should resign from his post. I also condemn the Udupi Muncipal Corporation for banning the protest at Clock Tower and at the Jatka stand. We have conducted many protests against the state government. The Congress government is afraid of us and has taken a decision to ban the protest in public places."

Suresh Shetty, Gurme K Uday Kumar Shetty, Dinakar Babu, Geetha Shet and BJP party men participated in the protest.

Not only after Ganapathy suicide case, the BJP leaders have problem with George from day one. Don't know why?

Soon after Ganapathy committed suicide, his own family members spoke to media and told, he had psychological disorder and was undergoing treatment & this might be the reason for taking such big step(suicide). The person who is undergoing mental treatment can say anything in front of media before his suicide. How CBI can consider his statement?
Also, Ganapathy had reason to blame his higher officers as he had not got promotion for long time & reason was, he was facing some serious cases against him. He was also accused of supporting previous state BJP Govt, to carry out their hidden agenda(attacks on minorities)!

Come on guys, protest against real burning issues like, petrol price hike, daily commodity prices hike, GST, Demonetization, falling rate of GDP, Corruption, PMs false promises, niddeYurappa's bribe case to CBI judge, etc... rather than such weak topics!

BJP leaders and their team including ladies always create violence, disharmony and hatred in the state and in the country. They do not work for any development and they want resignation from those who work towards the progress of our nation. Why they do not protest to get justice for women against their kidnap, rape and murder? That time they are always very calm and quite. Why they do not demand the resignation of Haryana CM against the incident of Gurmeet Singh (self calling Ram Rahim)

The dubious biased and high handed role by this police Inspector and severe atrocities and excesses committed against unarmed peaceful and silent protesters in Sept 2008 is still fresh in our minds. Hope CBI when taking up the probe looks into this crime by the police Inspector.

Suicide is a self-act and the law says it is his own crime.

DySp Ganapati was guilty of church attacks. Yeddy utilised him and gave free hand to beat Christians inside the Church.

YEDDY WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHURCH ATTACKS

DEPUTY COMMISSIONER MAHESHWAR RAO, AND S.P., SATEESH HAVE GIVEN LAW IN THE HANDS OF THUGS OF BJP, VHP AND BD.

YEDDY MATTER IS A GONE CASE.

Our udupi mangalore highway road is becoming worst . Where is MP ?

Baikampady road, near Surathkal Tollgate , Padubidri road. I think our MP is not travelled on these roads.

    Even manipal road is worst.

MP's are always busy in only protesting and blaming.

Please spare some time to improvement of roads and Infrastructure too
