Mangaluru: Public figures Moideen Bava and Kalladka uphold religious harmony

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Sep 16: On account of Mosaru Kudike festival, people had dressed their children on Friday September 15 as little Krishna, who as per mythology, was fond of stealing butter from the houses of Gopikas by stealthily entering their homes and breaking pots containing yogurt. Mosaru Kudike in fact, is celebrated to replicate the divine sport indulged in by Lord Krishna during his childhood.

City (north) MLA, B A Moideen Bava, displaying fine gesture of goodwill and religious harmony, went through different areas and encouraged little children dressed as Krishna. He held and fondled some of them, in a spirit which buoyed the moods of the children.

Not lagging behind, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, took part in a Mehndi programme conducted on Friday at the home of a Muslim family at Kalladka. The function once again exemplified the fact that the people of the district, who many a time are projected as people with communal overtones, in fact want peaceful coexistence, universal brotherhood, and religious harmony.

Prabhakar Bhat, accompanied by wife, Kamala, visited the family and blessed the bride-to-be heartily. Prabhakar Bhat knows Hakim Kalladka since the last about a decade, and Hakim's two children are students of Sri Rama school run by Bhat. On Friday, Mehndi programme of a relative of Hakim had been arranged, and Bhat had been personally invited. The couple also spoke to the people gathered there, and returned after having tender coconut water. Bhat was accompanied by head teacher of his school, Raviraj, and activist, Krishnappa.

Kalladka expressed happiness at the fact that he was extended personal invitation for the function, and for the affectionate way in which he was treated there. He said he will take part in the marriage function related to this function which is scheduled to be held on Sunday, if he happens to be in town then.

Any way good development. People may change their mind at any time and some times people can accept opposition ideology also. Hate will not work at all the times. Good example was Shri Pejawar Swamiji. God bless all and let's live peacefully.

During my childhood, we had a Muslim and Hindu (Shetty) neighbors. At least once in a week all three ladies used to have breakfast together in our house. We did not have a dining table and all of us used to sit on kitchen ground and have breakfast. Sharing food prepared by them was regular practice. Even after 40 years, I still remember "Gendedaddya" (Rice cake prepared by putting fire at top and bottom of vessel)," Kudutta Saar" prepared by Avvamma and Typical Bunt style fish curry prepared by Pushpakka. Today Mangalore is changed a lot and such regular practices are becoming news headlines and practiced to become headlines.

    Wilson,
    Mangalore has not changed.
Almost on every Eid, we, friends including a group of four Hindus and one Christian, have lunch in any one of the Muslim friends in our group. The practice has been on since thirty years and still on, despite the fact that I have an RSS back ground and I support BJP. My Muslim friends do attend Christmas party in our christian friend's house despite the fact that beer and other alcohol flow throughout the night and pork is served, though they don't eat pork and don't drink alcohol.
The social media and digital media are the real culprits who have painted a wrong picture of Mangalore unknowingly by reporting some stray incidences prominently.

    Well said and written.
Do not think thing's have changed on the ground, people who play spoil sport is certain media houses sponsored by political parties who make sensational news from nothing ; bringing disharmony.
If the situation goes back with only television channel like Doordarshan on TV, sure life will be much more blissful like in the past(70s/80s)
    Jai Hind!

In the last held Assembly general election I predicted all Congress candidate win but Sullia failed in mere 1500 Votes so..But one from Managalorean USA bet me that Moideen Bava will not win and in this forum also so many readers are skeptical MBava winning from Managlore North. However,Bava surprised everybody except me..These predictions are in this forum on record and I am not praising myself.

Coming to Bava's performance as MLA ,,It is unprecedented and tremendous. One of pro active and closet aide of CM who brought lot of developmental projects to SURATHKAL. Apart from that,he mingled every one in the ground from His party or oppn party ,Children to veterans ,I mean reached to all.Communal harmony is main agenda along with development because every one know that sUrathkal constituency is prone to communal distrbances and mafia w/gang wars.Today when we look back after four years his tennure as MLA he did it to the expectation of the people of Managalore North and as Community member we are proud of him.

You predicted UPA3 also on the hopes of Mahagatiya bandhan which happens within one year of Congress sweeping Karnataka. . That doesn't make someone a looser just because they may have to wrong. Can you predicted the same this time also. I will predict BJP will get back almost all except Mangalore South. ! . Congress won the BJP bastion thanks to BJPs mess on Karnataka. Same reason will make Congress loos this time . Even Bava may have tough time defending his constituency (not because of him) but the party he is associated with.
