Mangaluru: Man accused of supplying ganja to imprisoned son held

Mangaluru, Sep 16: Police personnel from Barke station arrested a man when he was supplying ganja to his son, who has been jailed relating to a criminal case. The incident happened on Friday September 15.

The arrested happens to be Divakar. The police said that he was found throwing a packet containing ganja and paracitamol tablets to his son over the wall of the district prison here from the compound of District Institute of Education and Training in the adjoining compound. Divakar's son, Rakshit Gowda, is in judicial custody at present.

Narendra, police sub-inspector of Barke station here, conducted the operation on the basis of reliable information he received, and nabbed the person red-handed. During investigation, the police found 60 grams of ganja, six paracitamol tablets and a cellphone in the possession of Divakar.

A case relating to the incident has been filed in Barke police station. Further investigation is on.
