Bengaluru: Ahead of Assembly elections, BJP wants to hold Muslims' convention

Bengaluru, Sep 16: Ahead of the Karnataka Assembly elections, slated to be held next year, BJP is planning to hold a political convention for over 25,000 Muslims across the state.

On Friday, several leaders from the Muslim community were inducted into the BJP party. Speaking on the occasion, BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa said members from the Muslim community are turning towards BJP as they are aware of the ‘vote bank politics’, played by Congress.

"BJP’s win in Uttar Pradesh indicates the same," he said.

He also informed that Union Ministers and BJP election in-charge for Karnataka Assembly polls, Prakash Javadekar and Piyush Goyal, will hold a party meeting on Saturday in Bengaluru.

    If BJP believes in inclusive policy, why it fails to give single tickets to Muslims in Uttar Pradesh which is the highest number of Muslim population in India?

    From decades BJP has only three Muslim personality namely late Sikandar Bakht, Shahnawaz Hussain and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. Why party can't even find one new Muslim face to replace late Sikandar? Is Abdul Kalam is the first and last President of BJP from minority Muslims?

    Why did BJP has nominated single Muslim from Karnataka in the last assembly elections? Why did BJP has only one Muslim from the Union Cabinet out of 18 crores Muslims of India? If 'triple talaq' is so much concern for the BJP, why didn't it provide justices to those widows affected from communal riots?Why can't it provide employment for divorce Muslim women?

    So, when Modi preaches about empowering Muslims or talks about their patriotism, it certainly gives hope to India's biggest minority community. But when they are squeezed into his (or the BJP's) scheme of things, it only strengthens their doubt.

    Many believe there is a huge gap between what he says and does. And, if the prime minister is really keen to bridge the trust deficit, he has to practice what he preaches. So the Karnataka BJP is no difference to his PM Modi's thoughts.

Bother party leaders are corrupt.Siddu govt is worst corrupt ever Karnataka has seen.Bjp Congress should not get comfortable numbers.JDS and BJP should form govt jointly with common minimum programmes.Then only they can be taught a lesson.Deve Gowda and DVS should not be in the election process.

    Whoever may come but BJP should not come. We have seen BJP administration. BJP is not custodian of hindu religion. They play vote bank politics more than anyone else does. People need to think whether they want jailed CM ruling us again or they need corruption free governance.
