Mangaluru: Toll collection at Suratkal to stop after tender period expires - Nalin Kateel

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Sep 13: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel on Wednesday September 13 said that the collection of toll Suratkal, over which several protests have been held in the recent past, would be stopped once its tender period expires.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme at Mulky here, Nalin Kateel said, "Suratkal toll collection will be stopped soon after the present tender period expires.

"There are two tollgates within a distance of 12 kilometres between Hejamady and Mulky. Therefore, the one at Suratkal will be closed," he said.

"Work on the national highways is not completed. All service roads will be constructed once the pending work is done. Work on Haleangady-Mulki stretch will also be completed soon," he said answering to a question.

"Work on widening Mulky-Polali highway is in progress. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is constructing Mulki-B C Road-Polali-Bajpe highway and Melkar-Konaje road. The project is already in DPR stage. The work is expected to be undertaken next year," he said.

Zilla panchayat member Vinod Bolkur, BJP's Umanath Kotian, Ranganath Shetty and others were present.

I do not understand why there is Toll ? Is Toll really required . It is really looting money.

I was passing by CAR in BC Road, I just showed paper piece as pass . The guy who is in toll from far given signal, no need to pay Toll Money. He thinks, I have pass. If he really, punctual and serious in collecting money, then he would have stopped car and checked .

I traveled more 1000KM in Highway in Saudi Arabia, Not even a single Toll Gate at Saudi Arabia. No Road Tax....

Mr. Kateel do some development works along with his protests, but our udupi chikmanaglurru MP shaobakka is seen here and there only during protest and she is not attending any programmes even organised by government departments. I have attended several programmes where her name is mentioned in the invitation letter but she is not seen, whether its education department, any other departments, Temples, Masjid or church her name appears in invitation but she is not seen in the programme, whereas our MLA Mr. Pramod seen everywhere.

In India only one machine is working excellently....i.e. collection of tax. Have you ever heard that Toll Tax Counter is not working anywhere in the world???

You think public is fool! If yes, then you are correct. Shame on you for giving such a stupid statement. You know very well that how long the tender period is and poor people doesn't. This will be your last term, no matter whatever you do, God willing you will never come back to power. We know what you are and what is your capacity.

Nalin could not give full info. so I did some research-
Tender last renewed: 1st April, 2017
    Tender expiry: 31st March, 2018

What was he doing when it was renewed earlier this year?
Why does he make such futuristic promises such that he will forget?

Tricky statement Mr MP. We need accurate response for the developmental works carried and its completion date. But your response is like a day dream. Why you are not spitting fire when it comes to developmental works of your own constituency..? Oh you want to see ashes of whole DK district so why development right..... ?

There is huge burden of taxes on citizens. Petrol and diesel are not brought under GST because of lootmaar. Where all the collected tax goes ? We Indian are just working like slaves whole of our life just for sake of taxes. Then why should we pay separately for roads ?
