Doha: ICF organizes Eid meet, KCF wins trophy

Doha, Sep 6: KCF Qatar won the Eid trophy with maximum points among other teams of the regional centers of ICF Qatar. ICF like Karnataka Cultural Foundation (KCF) is an organization functioned by Keralite expatriates. It is the most prominent and active organization with socio-religious activities in GCC, Malaysia and London being functioned by expatriate community from Karnataka.

Eid meet was organized on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha by ICF jointly with KCF and RSC (Risala study circle), followed by an Eid tour in which a special gathering was arranged in Al Thakira Youth Center at Alkhor. Varieties of programmes were conducted in the indoor stadium including seminars, various competitions, indoor and outdoor sports.



Prior to the start of the tour, members gathered at Markhiya Compound, to commemorate their beloved Sayyid Umarul Farooq Al-Bukhari (Possot Thangal) in the presence of eminent scholars and leaders of KCF. A new wing was also launched by Hafiz Umarul Farooq Saqafi, president of Qatar KCF, named ‘KCF Sahitya Kalaa Okkoota’ which will function more towards potential writers and other talents in the region. Farooq Krishnapura presented the event and highlighted the functionaries of this wing.

On reaching the Indoor stadium at Alkhor, the members were welcomed with special Duff and singing as a symbol of honor and joy. After the inauguration of the events by scholar Paravanna Abdurrazzaq Saqafi, president ICF, a seminar was presented by psychologist Dr Muhsin on the topic of family life. Issues faced by new generation families, the trend in the new lifestyle, its negative consequences and overcoming them were discussed in the seminar which was very interactive and useful.

Followed by various competitions like quiz, drawing, table topic speech, Dayirathul Wardh were held in the indoor stadium. Most entertainingly, Kabaddi and tug of war were held outdoors, under the floodlight after the evening prayers. Winning Kabaddi in the first place, KCF stood at second place in Tug of War against the first place to ICF Alkhor center. Out of all the competitions, KCF Qatar emerged as winner of Eid trophy with the highest points overall.

ICF, KCF and RSC leaders jointly congratulated the winners of each game and appreciated the teamwork and participation in all the events making it a great success. Hafiz Umarul Farooq Saqafi thanked ICF leaders for arranging joint events giving opportunities to KCF for being a part throughout its tour. The efforts rendered by Farooq Krishnapura, Kader Karopady, Akbar, Rishad Kundapura, Kader Kayarthadka, Asif Karpady were recalled and appreciated by the leaders.
