Mangaluru, Sep 6: Many Tulu films are being released these days. There are 13 single screen theatres for Tulu films in Mangaluru. The condition of Tulu films in multiplexes is very bad, as the films run only for few days and are replaced by films of other languages.
Janata theatres can solve problems of Coastalwood cinema. There are many Janata theatres in the state, but none in Mangaluru.
The presence of Janata theatres can help producers of regional films earn at least some revenue. There is no proper distribution system for Tulu films as the producers themselves have to take the films to theaters for screening them.
The small sized Janata theatres will help Tulu films to grow. Producers should come together and request the government to set up Janata theatres in coastal Karnataka.
