Prakash Javadekar is BJP's poll in-charge for Karnataka

New Delhi, Aug 24 (PTI): Union ministers Arun Jaitley and Prakash Javadekar were on Thursday appointed the BJP's election in-charge for the high-stakes Gujarat and Karnataka assembly polls respectively.

BJP chief Amit Shah also appointed four Union ministers – Narendra Singh Tomar, Nirmala Sitharaman, Jitendra Singh and PP Choudhary – co-incharge for the Gujarat polls, scheduled to be held later this year, a party statement said.

Union minister Piyush Goyal will be co-incharge for the Karnataka polls, slated for early next year, it said.

Union minister Thawar Chand Gehlot has been appointed the election in-charge for the Himachal Pradesh assembly polls, also scheduled for later this year.

Jaitley and Javadekar have been the party's in-charge for various state polls in the past. Gehlot is also a veteran organisation man.

The last assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat were held in November and December, 2012, respectively. The results were announced on December 20, 2012.

The last Karnataka assembly polls were held in May, 2013.

The BJP is in a direct contest with the Congress in all the three states. While the saffron party is in power in Gujarat, its bastion for over two decades, the opposition party rules in the other two states.

Since it stormed to power at the Centre in 2014, the BJP has edged past the Congress in the polls in states where the latter was its main challenger. The Congress defeated the SAD-BJP alliance in Punjab, but the BJP was a junior partner in the state.

In Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is leading the Congress charge against the BJP, which has made it clear that its state president and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa will be its chief ministerial face. Siddaramaiah has expressed confidence that he will retain power.

The BJP is confident of retaining power in Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah.

In the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh where the BJP has not projected any chief ministerial candidate yet, a keen battle is expected between the two parties, with Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh leading the Congress campaign.

Kannadigas are always welcome others with open arms.Prakash Javadekar of BJP is also welcome.
    But we Kannadigas don't want
1.Communal politics like Gujarat and UP in Karnataka.
2.No social media and no photoshop for mud slinging.
3.No criminals and corrupts should be give tickets.
    4. No communal hatred speeches for votes.
    5. No shmashana- Kabristan politics in Gandhada gudi.
    6. All session should be conducted from assembly not resorts.
    7. Absolutely no porn in assemblies.
    8. No more church attacks or serving dead cow in temple or pig in mosque.
    9. As long as we are all nationals of this nation no one is 'anti-national'.
    10. No fake terror attacks or surgical strike for votes.i
    11. No cheap personal attacks on opposition politicians.
12.Lastly,money can buy votes but not respect.
13.Make sure one CM and one Deputy can be lasted for the entire tenure.

Kannadigas are mature voters and much educated than north Indians. Karnataka is already far developed than 'Gujarat Model'. We Kannadigas contributed India in Information Technology, aerospace, nano agriculture and so on.
Please do not bring 70 years of past history. We want to see development of 5 years BJP's ruling in Karnataka.

Thanks to BJP because by sending an amateur like Javadekar Congress party victory is even more secure.
If anyone tries to engineer some riots/disturbances to polarize voters then Congress leaders with CM Siddu leading will teach them a good lesson for sure.

Good choice for Karnataka election in-charge for BJP. I've noticed that he is one of big lier in BJP. He has the ability to project any wrong /false information to right. Because in Karnataka BJP impossible to win more than 60-70 seats by showing clear picture of past state govt or present central govt. success. In the urban area they get votes only by playing communal cards and in rural areas only by wrong information.
