Sullia: ACB conducts raid - arrests revenue inspector

Sullia, Aug 22: In an operation conducted by Mangaluru unit of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) here on Monday evening, August 21, a revenue inspector was taken into custody. Dayanand D T, revenue inspector of Panja revenue division in the taluk, was arrested during the raid.

Harish from Murulya village had applied for changing the land records in his name by submitting form 94C. As the official demanded payment of bribe, Harish complained to ACB. When the official was receiving bribe from Harish near Hotel Santrupti at Sullia on Monday evening, ACB officials caught the official red-handed and recovered Rs 8,000 he had received as bribe.

The arrested person was produced in court later.

The operation, conducted under the guidance of ACB superintendent of police, Shruti, was executed by deputy superintendent of police, Sudheer Hegde and inspector, Yogeesh Kumar.

It is learnt that the arrested official had recently been posted as revenue inspector of Panja from Puttur, and that his wife too is employed in revenue department.
