Manchester, Aug 18: KCA UK organised its annual get-together at Bolton Abbey on August 12. Bolton Abbey is one of the well Known locations in England for a perfect family day out, located in the heart of Yorkshire Dales on the banks of River Wharfe. With just under 30,000 acre of beautiful countryside, over 80 mile of footpath and ample space to run around and enjoy the fresh air, at Bolton Abbey there is something for all ages.

Around 40 members of KCA UK living in and around Warrington, Liverpool and Birmingham along with 45 members from Manchester gathered together at Warrington. They began their journey at 8.30 am. The journey commenced with prayers. The members reached the spot at around 10.30 am, where another group of 35 members from Oldham, Leeds, Salford and Sheffield joined the group. President Santhosh Pinto welcomed the gathering.

Breakfast prepared by Loyola Moras from Sheffield and favourable sunny weather kept everyone's spirits and enthusiasm up.

Games like ‘shot put’ followed by ‘tug of war’ for adults and kids started the day with loads of excitement. A few games for the kids were thoroughly enjoyed while the content parents watched on.

A delicious lunch was served at around 1.30 pm. KCA team organised the food in a splendid way. Rio D’Souza, Janet D’Souza, Flavia D’Souza and family were specially appreciated for their contribution to the lunch menu.

The afternoon session was dominated by throwball for ladies and well known Mangalurean rural games like Dog and the Bone, Dizzy-Lizzy (Going around the stick) and Lagori. The games were brilliantly conducted by Santhosh Sequeira, Ronald Lobo and Santhosh Pinto.

In the closing hours of the day all the participants, approximately 120 members enjoyed a singing session of their favourite songs in Konkani, Tulu, Kannada and Hindi. The winning members/teams were honoured with prizes. In the return bus journey at 6.00 pm members entertained themselves with songs, jokes and laughter.

The get-together was also attended by Gujarati, Kannada and Pakistani families. KCA UK remains grateful to people of all communities for their contribution toward community cohesion.

This get-together by KCA UK was well planned. A few members visited the place prior to the occasion and assisted in the arrangements. This proposed study and planning created a lot of interest for the group to visit the place.

KCA UK thanked all the members and volunteers who contributed toward the success of the event.
