Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College celebrates I-Day with fervour

Mangaluru, Aug 17: St Agnes PU College, Bendur, celebrated 71st Independence Day with great enthusiasm and solemnity.

chief guest K Pramod Kumar Rai, former director of CAMPCO Ltd; Ronald Fernandes, bureau chief- Deccan Herald; Dr Sr Maria Roopa, joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions, Sr Shamita, principal, Sr Norine, vice principal and Tressy Menezes, NCC co-ordinator were escorted by the NCC Army wing cadets.

The programme began with a prayer song. The dignitaries on the dais inaugurated the NCC Army Wing by lighting a lamp followed by the NCC song. On this auspicious day, the chief guest in his address said that it is the responsibility of the youth to act in the present rather than regretting in the future.



To keep alive the flame of patriotism, the students performed patriotic dances, rendered a patriotic song that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the motherland, provided thought provoking street play on the concept of freedom. The cultural programme concluded with the National Anthem.
