Soldier injured in Pakistan firing dies


Srinagar, Aug 16 (IANS): A soldier who sustained injuries when the Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire on the Line of Control on August 4 succumbed to his injuries here on Wednesday, officials said.

The soldier identified as Havaldar Narendra Singh was undergoing treatment at the Army's 92 base hospital in Srinagar.

"After battling for life for 12 days, the soldier succumbed to critical injuries," a defence spokesperson said here. 

The 43-year-old Singh had joined the Army in 1994. He belonged to Haripur village in Dehradun.
