Sushma announces medical visas for Pakistanis

New Delhi, Aug 16 (IANS): On the occasion of Independence Day, the Ministry of External Affairs announced that India will provide medical visas to all bona fide Pakistan patients.

In a tweet on Tuesday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said: " On the auspicious occasion of India's Independence day, we will grant medical visa in all bonafide cases pending with us."

As ties between the two countries soured over various issues, the ministry had announced in May that only a letter of recommendation by Pakistan Foreign Affairs Advisor Sartaj Aziz will enable a Pakistani national to get a medical visa for India.

The action was termed "highly regrettable" by Islamabad, who said that asking for a letter from the Foreign Affairs Adviser was "against diplomatic norms" and that "such a requirement has not been prescribed for any other country".

However, on July 18, a patient from Pakistan-administered Kashmir, seeking treatment in New Delhi for a liver tumour, was granted a visa. Swaraj said that he needed no recommendation from the Pakistan government for a medical visa because the territory is "an integral part of India".

Ancient times and Ganditva cannot survive in the present world. Especially, with our enemy country. The present world is going through aggressive pace and that is very much clear from our political heads too.
Are you sure that, country like PAK will yield to our hospitality. Please do not mix up. Mr. Modi is trying to black list Pakistan in the eyes of world community and our own people have a soft gesture on medical grounds. What is the meaning of that?
When Ramya praised pakistanies , all the Bhakts made hullbaloo and now different ton. why watching same situation from different perspectives.?

We Indians always believe 'vasudaiva Kutumbakam'.
' Sarve Jana Sukhino Bhavanthu' and 'ahimsa paramo dharma' was our tagline from ancient times. That is the reason many readers her can comment all nonsense without any fear, even when Sushmaji takes a very humanitarian stand.

True nationalists, BJP leaders can always have soft corner towards Pakistan even though they mutilate bodies of our soldiers. If public or opposition party utter a word about Pakistan, they are anti nationals and sedition charges will be slapped on them. For example film star Ramya.

They know how to develop nuclear bomb and cannot make advancemnt in Medical field too. Sushmaji, never expect that your soft corner & humanitarian gesture will bring any improvements in their attitude.

Genuine medical cases from Pakistan should be considered. There is another reason for this ...

Our lawyer will have to provide submissions for Khulbhusan Jhadev's case which is coming up before the ICJ next month (Sep '17) and Pakistan will want to show India as a violator of human rights. The granting of medical visas (despite Pakistan's recommendation) will help strengthen our case.

If Sushma does any blunder, will be considered as under humanitarian ground and if others does the same thing, they are anti nationals. If Modi says Kashmir issue can be resolved by talks, he is nationalist leader but if the left party or Congress leaders said same thing, they are peacenicks o traitors. What a hipocrisy ??
